Volar Studio is an independent creative studio led by Nick Doughty, focused on UI/UX design, digital experiences, and aerial photography. The studio was built around a simple idea — create work that feels refined, usable, and thoughtfully executed across every touchpoint.

Over the past 6+ years, I’ve worked across a wide range of digital products and visual systems, contributing to projects for brands in media, technology, hospitality, and consumer industries. My background combines UI/UX design, visual design, and a strong focus on clarity, structure, and usability.
Outside of digital work, aerial photography and visual storytelling have become an extension of that same perspective — balancing composition, detail, and intentional design in both digital and physical spaces.

Outside of digital design, aerial photography became a natural extension of the same interest in composition, perspective, and visual storytelling.

My interest in aerial photography grew from a broader appreciation for visual composition and creative expression. Inspired early on by my grandfather’s work as both an artist and photographer, I became increasingly interested in exploring different forms of visual storytelling through design, photography, and modern digital tools. Drone photography became a natural extension of that perspective, offering a new way to capture scale, light, landscape, and environment from above.
